Label free photonic sensing platforms are revolutionizing Point of Care diagnostic methods, allowing high sensitivity and high compactness needed for fast and reliable detection of infectious and autoimmune diseases. PoC BoSens is a transnational project that contributes to the development of a portable device based on an array of highly sensitive photonic micro-resonators.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM supports PoC BoSens by exploiting its expertise in fiber optic technology, chip integration and optical measurement methods. Such approaches are essential for the realization of a functional optofluidic cartridge.

The PoC BoSens project is coordinated by IZM where academic and industrial partners are required in fields of photonics, microfluidics, electronics, bio chemistry and assay development.
