Silicon Saxony is the largest and most successful trade association of the semiconductor, electronics and microsystems industry in Europe with 280 companies, research institutes, universities and colleges.

The competencies of the member companies cover the entire value chain of the microelectronics industry. From design and silicon to wafers, individual chips and complete applications, the companies offer innovative services, top quality and state-of-the-art technologies. In addition, growth sectors such as the photovoltaic and solar industries are increasingly being developed.

Fraunhofer IZM complements the association with its expertise in electronic packaging, system integration and electronic reliability. With its center in Dresden, production-oriented research for 3D integration on 300 millimeter wafers in particular can be further strengthened.
