In recognition of his contributions to the international electronics industry, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, Professor Herbert Reichl was given the iNEMI International Recognition Award.

The board of Directors wrote: "As you celebrate your 60th "Geburtstag" and as NEMI becomes iNEMI, we wish to recognize the contributions that you have made to the international electronics industry through your personal research and through the research programs that you have established with the electronics industry throughout the world. You have provided vision in the areas of electronics packaging, electronics manufacturing and green electronics. With your technical and management skills you have provided global leadership."
