Hitting the road with Saxony’s Minister-President to promote semiconductor technology
Fraunhofer IZM-ASSID and 14 representatives from the Microelectronics Cluster “Silicon Saxony” accompanied Saxony’s Minister-President Stanislaw Tillich on his tour of the USA to promote Saxony’s semiconductor know-how from 04.16. to 04.20. In Albany the project participants hosted a joint workshop that gave the Saxony institutes the chance to show off their expertise as industry suppliers and service providers to US representatives of the semiconductor sector. “Silicon Saxony” is Europe’s largest network for semiconductor technology and ICT. Every second microchip manufactured in Europe is stamped “Made in Saxony”.
Fraunhofer IZM-ASSID’s Jürgen Wolf used the opportunity to reconnect with cooperation partners and material suppliers, even sounding out and initiating new research cooperations into back-end-of-line, 3D wafer-level system integration and with material manufacturers.
