Principles of good scientific practice

To uphold the principles of good scientific practice (GSP), the German Research Foundation (DFG)* mandates that all scientific institutions appoint an ombudsperson for science. This appointed individual advises, supports, and mediates in questions and conflicts relating to good scientific practice.

The ombudsperson plays a key role in communicating guidelines on scientific conduct and provides Fraunhofer IZM employees with guidance on matters of scientific integrity and potential misconduct. Naturally, all concerns are handled with strict confidentiality.

The ombudsperson is available not only to internal staff but is also responsible for addressing external concerns regarding scientific practices at Fraunhofer IZM.
